Goddess Durga Will Arrive on a Palanquin

The vehicle of Goddess Durga during Navratri is considered highly significant. If Navratri begins on a Thursday, the Goddess arrives on a palanquin (doli). This year, it begins on a Thursday, which symbolises the possibility of heavy rains. According to scriptures, the arrival of the Goddess on a palanquin is considered inauspicious.
