Meaning: He served the king in various ways and behaved like a very loyal servant. The king remained in that forest for several more days.

Meaning: When the meal was served to the sages, the dish of human flesh was served first. Seeing this, Sage Vashistha was enraged and immediately cursed the king.

Meaning: As soon as the curse was given, the King also became angry. He thought, "Why have I been cursed so severely without having committed any significant crime?"

Meaning: The Queen said to her husband, "It is a great sin to curse one's Guru. Instead, bow down and hold his feet; that alone will help you cross the ocean of worldly existence."

Meaning: Like a tiger pouncing on its prey, the demon seized the Brahmin. He took him away to devour him, while the Brahmin's wife followed, pleading in distress.
